Dirt Cheap Lens

This is a handy little tip for those shooting with a DSLR and looking to expand t
heir lens range for next to no money.

Ok so I have a Canon 10D and a 50mm lens, which is great in nearly every situation, but I thought it would be nice to have a wider lens for shooting in the house and landscapes, and a zoom lens for getting perfectly framed shots in town and for wildlife.
The problem was I had about a £20 budget and wanted my lens within the week, so saving up for a second hand canon lens wasnt really an option. So heres what I did
-Went to a charity shop and picked up a Chinon 28mm and 28-70mm for £10
-Bought a Pentax K mount to EOS mount adaptor (the lenses were K mount)

I wish there were more steps to this to make it seem more resourceful but thats just how easy it was.
Now obviously the lens arent the best quality lens in the world for £5 each, but theyre definitely worth the purchase and hold their own against my Canon 50mm. Heres a test shot to show how sharp these dirt cheap lens actually are.

As for downsides, obviously with the older lenses there is usually no autofocus or camera controlled apeture, but Ive always been a fan of manual lens control.
Now you can see theres a bit of blur and the image is a bit dusty, but thats because the lens I bought is very old and well worn, Ill clean it out this weekend and maybe give the lens a quick review/test run later on.
